You Have Power!

Every true believer has Power in Christ. 1 Corinthians 4:20 reads, "For the kingdom of God is not in word but in power". Get baptized in the Holy Spirit today, and live a spiritually productive life...

Receive the Holy Spirit!

Are you truly a Born Again Christian? Romans 8:9 reads, "...Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His". Meaning if you're NOT baptized in the Holy Spirit, then you're not truly a Christian!

According to the prophet Isaiah (Isaiah, chapter 53) the sacrifice of our lord Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary was God’s master-strategy to save mankind and restore His dominion on earth. Hence, over the centuries, the message of the Cross had been for people to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and savior, repent and receive forgiveness of sins. Hence, the blood of Jesus Christ shed for the forgiveness of sins had being the theme of the salvation message. The message calls on people to become ‘Born Again’ - as the Lord instructed in John 3:3

Nevertheless, the blood of Jesus Christ is NOT only about salvation for ‘forgiveness of sins’, living a lifetime of holiness, and going to heaven afterwards. Those are some of the

basic Truth; but we thank God there are more! 1 Corinthians 15:45 reads, “And it is written, ‘The first man Adam became a living being.’ The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.” (NKJV) As such, Jesus Christ is the 'last Adam' and He is the 'life-giving spirit', glory to God. Consequently, the scriptures teach us that, as Christ is a life-giving spirit, so also is every true Christian a life-giving spirit. The Lord Jesus expressly stated this in John 3:6 which reads thus, "That which is born of the flesh is a flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is a spirit."

So the salvation message established by our Lord Jesus Christ did not culminate at His crucifixion; actually it continued at His resurrection. The preaching of Christ crucifixion only emphasizes ‘forgiveness of sins by His blood’, while the teaching of Christ resurrection emphasizes the ‘endowment with Power’ upon every Holy Spirit filled believer. By the resurrection of Jesus Christ a New Creation of people were born. (John 1:12-13)

Thus, if you are Born Again in Christ, then you are a New Creation living by the Power of the Holy Spirit, as mostly revealed in the New Testament bible teachings. Most Christians today have not been taught to receive the Holy Spirit and walk in the Resurrection Power. The full symbolism of the Cross of Calvary have not been demystified to enable faith and spiritual growth in most modern day churches. God’s power did not end with the Apostles, as some would have you believe. The Power of God is a continuum us in Christ. His Power is available to you, if you will believe.

The Word of God in you is literally the Power of God in you. See, you can live a biblical supernatural life in this day and age, if you have received the Holy Spirit and also received the Word of faith concerning Him. Remember, the Bible teaches that ‘faith comes by hearing the Word of God’ (Romans 10:17) concerning salvation and the gift of God, through Christ Jesus.

The book of 1 Corinthians 1: 23 – 24 reads, “But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; but unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.”  (NKJV)

There are many more benefits of salvation, apart from ‘repentance and forgiveness of sins’, if only believers would feed on the Word and grow. Little wonder, Hebrews 5: 12-13 reads, “for though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskillful in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe.” (NKJV)

Accordingly, the gift of salvation did not end with the forgiveness of sins through the blood of Jesus Christ. Rather, salvation is a package of gifts which include, among other things, forgiveness of sins, eternal mercy, a New Creation, purposeful success, divine health, and dominion Power. There are verifiable scriptures for each of these in the Bible, but for want of space, we would focus on the Resurrection Power which is a gift of ‘dominion power’.

Shortly after our Lord Jesus Christ resurrected from death, He pointedly told the disciples, “…You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (NKJV)

Further to, the Bible records that, as many as received Jesus Christ have been given the dynamic power and authority to live life as the Sons of God (John 1: 12). If you want to understand what that means examine how Jesus lived on earth as a man.

Incidentally, the message of salvation from preachers (mostly, dominated by evangelists) had over the centuries concentrated on the aspect of ‘repentance and forgiveness of sins’ by the blood of Jesus. The wider message of ‘dominion by the Resurrection Power’ has not been pervasively preached. Except, the rightful message of ‘prosperity’, which I dare say, most pastors preach out of greed for their congregations tithes and offerings. It is more fruitful to believers for pastors to teach on gift of dominion Power because it would necessarily lead to mass infilling of the Holy Spirit; for the lesser is included in the greater.

Most people in the church today, who may have been Born Again for decades, have not been fully baptized in the Holy Spirit. You will live powerless and an unproductive life, if you do not get filled with the Holy Spirit. Even our Lord Jesus Christ had to be filled with the Holy Spirit on a particular day, and thence forth there was demonstration of dominion Power in His ministry. (Matthew 3: 16-17)

Incontrovertibly, you cannot dominate your world, for Christ’s sake, except you understand, receive and operate by the Resurrection Power of the Holy Spirit. I mean, Resurrection Power is the fullness of the Holy Spirit in you. Therefore, He would enable you live an extraordinary life to the glory of God! You will experience recurring victories in your life battles, success in your career and fruitfulness in your marriage. In fact, whenever you have life failures, they will definitely make you stronger, working out for your good. (Romans 8: 28)

Sicknesses, either physical or spiritual (demonic), shall not dwell in your body, because your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. The great Apostle Paul in his letter to the Romans 8: 11 also said, “But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.” (NKJV)

The Resurrection Power in you would spectacularly bring glory to God. Thus, our Lord Jesus in Mark 16:17-18 aptly described how the Resurrection Power would work in you as, “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

And nothing shall incapacitate you, if you are living by the Resurrection Power. Never be afraid of any adversity, both physical and spiritual; but always reverence God, your Father. As is predominantly the case in Africa, do not make the mistake of living in fear of juju, demons or any satanic powers. Jesus Christ said, “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”  (Luke 10:19 NKJV)

Receive the Word of God for you concerning His Resurrection Power. It was meant for you too. You shall have a successful lifetime, and your success would be a magnate to draw lost souls to Christ. Remember, it is written that ‘he that wins souls is wise’. Live to fulfill your destiny in Christ from today.
